Food Report Criticizes Biofuel Policies
From the New York Times. "The energy security, environmental and economic benefits of biofuels production based on agricultural commodity feed stocks are at best modest, and sometimes even negative," says the report, prepared by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. "Alternative approaches may be considered that offer potentially greater benefits with less of the unintended market impact."

The article would have been better titled, "Food Report Ignores Hunger Caused by High Fuel Costs"
Much like your site, the NYT fails to fairly explain the calamity of high priced oil. Billions of dollars are pouring out of America and other countries to pay for high priced oil leaving the poor with less food money .
Ethanol has increased the fuel supply while providing food, feed AND fuel.
Actually, ethanol has not "provided food and feed." It takes food and feed away from the market and tightens the supply. As we learned early in our education system, when the supply tightens, prices increase. That is what has occurred. All because of government policy instead of a market based approach.
